Instant formattingВ enables you to watch the reference list (bibliography)В appearВ as you insert citations. This provides options for changing the font, font size, indents, line spacing, and spacingВ between bibliography entries. Alter formatting to Exclude Author or Exclude Year.

To format these citations, click Update Citations andВ Bibliography. Unformatted citations have curly brackets and exposed record numbers. Using APA 6th as an example, formattedВ citations appear as (Wu, Chan, & Ma,В 2005).

Click on the Insert Citation toolbar button (keyboard shortcut : Alt-2В ).

Use the control keyВ and mouse together to select more than one reference.

Highlight the reference(s) that you wish to place in the document.

From the EndNoteВ tabВ click Go to EndNote.

Click into the text where youВ would like to place the citation. You can also directly insert a citation from EndNote or copy and paste citationsВ from EndNote to Word. The Insert Citation toolbar option can be used in Word to find a citation or insert a selected citation. There are various methods to insert citations into documents.

Click the drop downВ Style menu and selectВ your chosen style from the list or SelectВ Another Style.

Styles canВ include footnotes and numbering. EndNote will formatВ citations and bibliographies into a nominated style. Ul.pagination li a, ul.pagination li.EndNote worksВ with MicrosoftВ Word and Open Office Writer to insert citations intoВ documents.
